The “I Want to READ!” book drive is an idea borrowed from the Baltimore Reads Book Bank which was created as a method to donate books to children who have no books of their own. Since its inception in 1992, the Baltimore Reads Book Bank has collected and distributed more than 1,000,000 new and gently-used books to disadvantaged children and their families in the Baltimore community.
The goal? To spark family reading at home by making sure there are plenty of books available.
Our own Future Educators’ Club has collected and distributed over 10, 000 books to students within our collaborative districts.
